Mylopetra is the Greek word, in the Cretan dialect, that describes the special round stone that was used on the olive oil mills. During the renovation we had found this original Mill stone that we had kept it untouched as this was a part of “Fabrica” Olive Oil factory building that was running on the Ottomans era.
Olive tree was considered to be a sacred tree, so the olives and the olive oil were the most important element in the Cretans daily life. Olive seed was the basic core component for nutrition, lighting, and religion, considering as precious. Oil mills were a “source of life” for the locals.
Mylopetra family superior suite can accommodate up to 6 persons. It is a two floor mezzanine, 3 room suite. With Large living room area, seating area and fireplace, full equipped kitchen, dining area, and WC (small toilet) on the ground floor. Master bedroom, with double queen size bed (1,60m x 2,00m), the secondary bedroom with two single beds (1,00m x 2,00m) and the bathroom with Jacuzzi bathtub are located on the 2nd floor. Also 2 more persons can be hosted in the living room area double sofa bed.
The whole coverage of the suite is 90 square meters (without 12 sqm, terrace). It has a ground floor private terrace with independent entrance, equipped with table, chairs and umbrella, with access to the garden and the pool from the back door. Suite overlooks the village houses and road on the East side (terrace and entrance) and the garden – pool area, on the West side.
